What is LISSAI?
LISSAI is developing governed semantic infrastructure for consequential AI.
As AI systems gain the ability to reason, plan, and act, organizations need a way to preserve the context, meaning, authority, and boundaries humans intend.
LISSAI is designed to help keep those conditions governed outside the models that perform inference, so consequential actions can occur within authorized boundaries.
Core Principles
LISSAI is built around a small set of governing principles for consequential AI.
These principles are designed to preserve the distinction between human-authored meaning, model reasoning, authority, and action.
Governed meaning
Human-authored context, meaning, and constraints should remain explicit, governed, and independent of the models that reason over them.
Bounded Reasoning
AI can reason, recommend, and propose within defined boundaries without becoming the source of its own meaning or authority.
Governed Input
Human and organizational meaning, context, and authority should enter the system through controlled, traceable, and governed processes before they can influence reasoning or action.
Authorized Action
The ability to act does not create the authority to act. Consequential actions should proceed only when they are permitted within governed, human-authorized boundaries.
Why Now?
AI is moving from generating outputs to taking consequential action in sectors such as financial services, healthcare, enterprise systems, and critical infrastructure.
As that shift accelerates, organizations need stronger ways to govern the meaning, authority, and boundaries surrounding those actions before they occur.
Current Status
LISSAI is continuing architecture development and validation.
Current work is focused on technical development, legal and intellectual-property preparation, and engagement with selected technical and industry stakeholders.
